Pastoral Support at SS. Mary and John’s Catholic Primary Academy
OFSTED “Pastoral Support for pupils is of outstanding quality and staff develop pupils’ personal qualities extremely well, the school vigorously pursues its support for the schools’ most vulnerable pupils, working closely with Parents and outside agencies to meet the needs of such pupils.”…”Parents value the care provided for children by staff at school and believe that their children feel safe and are well looked after at school”.
We are proud to offer exceptional support for children and families through all of the work we do in school. Miss Greaves is our Pastoral Leader and works closely with all families and children in need of any support or advice.
Miss Greaves is also a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, Mental Health 1st Aider and is also one of our lead professionals for Early Help support.
Miss Greaves offers families first contact support on a range of matters including attendance, emotional health and well being, behaviour support at school and home, links to other agencies such as school nursing team, benefits and housing and referrals to external support services for families.
Miss Greaves works directly with children in school offering pastoral care and support for all pupils and drawing and talking therapy for individual pupils who require this.
We utilise the services of a professional, accredited Art Psychotherapist to support children who have experienced traumatic events or who require this bespoke support for emotional health and well being.
There are many different external organisations that we can turn to for confidential advice and support on a wide range of issues. Remember you can come and speak to anyone in our Academy if you need advice on any matter, we are here to help!
